Infusing National Characteristics into a Distinctive Brand Aesthetic

In the year 'Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road' one of the most important events of the country and the world is the World Weightlifting Championship which will be held in the capital in October-November. This championship will increase the international reputation of the country and will once again recognize Turkmenistan as a developing country of sports. As you know every international world sports competition has its own logo. Through this there is an opportunity to get acquainted with the nationality of the country holding the tournament. The national logo of the World Weightlifting Championship which will be held in the country soon has been approved. It was prepared by specialists of the famous Belli Creative Studio design agency in the country.

This design agency founded in 2014 has been preparing symbols for the opening ceremonies of state-important facilities in the country for several years now.

When we talked to Dovetmyrat Babaev, an expert of the design agency about the features of the logo of the World Weightlifting Championship to be held in the capital, he said: 'Under the leadership of our Heroic Friend who pays special attention to the development of sports and athletics every day of our life is filled with prosperity. Before starting to design this logo we reviewed with our experts the logos designed in competitions held abroad. We were interested in their preparation and technical aspects. We thoroughly studied the rules of weightlifting. We got to know the logo of the World Championship in this sport in America.'

As for the specifics of the approved silver among the several symbols we prepared for the World Cup, I would like to emphasize from the beginning that we are based on our green heritage. Along with nationalism and surveillance in the icon, we paid great attention to its simplicity to make it easy to use. The image and caption can be used together or separately as needed. During the days of the race, our capital will be full of wedding dresses. At the same time, these images were used together and individually to make them suitable for decoration in weather railway stations, sports facilities, racetracks, and on the Internet in newspapers and magazines.

We first included an image of an athlete lifting a barbell on the approved logo of the World Weightlifting Championships. The dash is meant to indicate that the competition is in the sport of weightlifting. Green color is the color of our national flag and symbolizes peace and tranquility. This color of the sign is the promotion of the peaceful, friendly, and brotherly politics of our beloved country. Five carpets are placed on the red colored strip. Those lakes that decorate the sign reflect the unity of the people and their respect for the nation. On the bar of the sign, the images of the crescent moon are reflected. Thus, this symbol represents the entire image of our green flag. We mainly focused on bright colors. The inscription 'Ashgabat 2018' was placed on its left side. We have also placed the name of the World Cup in English on the sign.

In our design agency, world experience is studied for the improvement of young professionals. Inspired by the approved logo, we wish that Turkmen weightlifters show high results in the World Championship, keep our green flag on their shoulders, and increase the sports prestige of the Motherland.
